This is based on a suggestion in the SM forum but I’ve modified it (based on other comments in that forum thread) so that Cura uses the initial print temp for layer 0. I’ve set the start G-Code for the SM A350 to the code below. These are the settings that I currently use: The SM forum article ( ) on Cura settings for SM 2.0 is a bit of a mess with a few errors in it. PrusaSlicer also looks good but haven’t tried it yet. Cura does seem to be very mature with lots of settings available to tweak, plus some handy plug-ins. I probably wouldn’t know how to tell the difference in quality but I’ll take everyone’s word for it. CuraĪfter much reading of forums while waiting for my A350 it seemed that Cura was a better (and free) alternative to using Luban for slicing. It’s all free versions of the software (so far). I’m sure this will evolve as I learn about more new tools and workflows. ![]() So this diagram shows my current setup/workflow. Consider that for every problem that is posted there could be hundreds or thousands of successes that are not posted. Thus forums will always be heavily biased towards the negative. There will also be some quirks and bugs about SM2 to be aware of too.Īlso remember that most people will be more likely to post about problems and ask for advice than they will to post about how successful every print and project is. So there will be lots of newbie failures that are often “user error”. Remember that many people that buy SnapMakers are new to the hobby (like me). Product Design Online (for Fusion 360 tutorials) Ī tip for reading forums/facebook groups: Don’t be dismayed by the amount of issues that you see people talk about on them. The Snapmaker Facebook Groups (for some reason there are 2 of them) Some resources I found useful for learning/research: ![]() I’ve tried a few basic things in CNC and laser so far but this setup is really about the 3D printing mode. My setup is not necessarily the best or even great (I don’t have anything to compare to), but it’s what I’ve done so far and I’m liking how it has evolved. While waiting for my SM2 I did a lot of research and learning on 3D Printing and 3D Design. The SnapMaker 2.0 A350 is my first 3D Printer or Laser/CNC machine. So I’ve created this to share my experience and setup so far. It seems there is some interest in seeing how people have setup their SM2, software, and workflow. ![]()
